Nagano

We went to Nagano back in May. We made a stop at a garden. The hillside was covered in creeping phlox.

Cherry blossom and creeping phlox
On our way to Nagano we stopped at a place where we ate gohei mochi.

Then we went to a wasabi farm. That was really cool. I had no idea how wasabi was grown. You have to have constant flowing fresh water. Nagano is also famous for wasabi.

For some reason I had the saturation turned up in my camera....oops!

This is Masao. He took us on this day trip to Nagano. We had a great time!

Cake Pops!

One of my friends, Tammy, has been making cake pops. I saw them on her facebook page and decided to make some of my own. I had a lot of fun making them! I made my first batch for Easter. I gave them to my students and they were a big hit. Kids are still asking for them. I think I'll make them again for Halloween and Christmas. They're a lot of work, but a lot of fun. It's probably easier if you don't try to make a 100 the first time.
