Meet the latest member of our family, Basil D. Simkin. Basil is awesome because she is low maintenance and you get to eat her when she grows up. Here's some pictures from the time she was just a little seedling.

These are our babies, Basil and Mint on May 9, 2011. They've just begun to show some growth. Aren't they cute? |

May 10. I know it's only one day later. However, over night a mushroom grew. You can see it in the left corner. |
May 11. The other mushroom died and two new ones came to life. Basil barely grew in these few days. |
I am a bad parent and didn't take pictures for one month. What that's like the equivalent of the first few years of a child's life.

That's our other child, Mint. Mint is not as useful as Basil, although Will has plans for some kind of tincture |
Awwww, look at how big Basil is getting. It appears she has a new friend, Tomato, growing with her. It must have come in the seed pack. What a blessing.
Once again, we as parents failed at documenting our children's growth. Here is another picture after one month. Basil has grown into a beautiful young adult. We're so proud of her.
Basil has gotten so big. Mint has grown a lot too. Mint is not as good as Basil. Tomato is getting big too, but she takes longer to grow. She is beginning to block a lot of the sunlight. (July 8th)
We're so proud of Basil. Here's one of many of her accomplishments.
Basil is old enough to drink! |

Basil with her new friends, Tomato and Shrimp Pasta.
I guess we could use a bigger garden |
